Passive Design
This Pine Valley Residence was designed according to passive design principles, utilizing super-thick insulated walls for keeping the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Radiant heated floors, a built-in south-facing greenhouse, and a roof designed for solar panels were among some of the strategies employed to stay within passive design principles.
Artist’s Residence
The Pine Valley Residence was designed for an artist + musician couple and their dancer daughter. The design features a large built-in studio for art, music and dance on the lower level.
Economy
Designed to be built within an extremely tight budget, Pine Valley utilized creativity in materials and construction methods to stay within budget.
